In the poem 'Dear Mom', Dorian Petersen Potter says that she is missing her loving mother. She misses her ever-smiling face and embrace. The poem is an excellent illustration of daughter-mother love. The role of mother in developing a girl into a woman is universally accepted, and in the process they both develop an inseparable and unique bonding. The kind of understanding and empathy a mother needs, she gets from her daughter and that is the secret of unique bonding between them. The same bonding has been illustrated in the poem. Here, Dorian says that she would always be grateful for her mother's love.
Dear Mom
Mom, I miss your smiling face,
Your loving voice and embrace,
You are considerate and kind,
You're everyday in my mind
Dear mom, it's you I do miss,
I send you a hug and a kiss,
You give me your tender love,
Which comes from God above
I can't ever thank you enough,
For all the love you've shown me,
Grateful for all the things,
Through the years you've giving me
Dear mom, I miss your loving face,
No other love can ever take your place!
