It's Halloween By Jack Prelutsky

The poem 'It's Halloween', by Jack Prelutsky, narrates how Halloween is celebrated and what are the feelings in people when they are celebrating it. For one night, people act evil, scaring each other with their weird and scary dresses. The poem shows that it's on Halloween night only that the charm of night becomes visible and people enjoy it utmost. The magical night of Halloween attracts people to participate in various programs. Kids with masks of ghosts, witches and animals look funny and scary. Little is known about the real aim of the celebration, but the festival of Halloween makes people look upon it as a fun festival for kids.

It's Halloween

It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gowns
We haunt the street
And knock on doors
for trick or treat.

Tonight we are
the king and queen,
For oh tonight
It's Halloween!
