In the love poem 'Memories of You', Keith Patrick McIntire describes the hurt he is going through, on being dejected by his lover. He is not able to forget the love once he was in. He starts thinking of his beloved even when he is with someone else. Keith says that the girl broke his heart and did not care for him. He cried a lot for her, while she just moved on with her life. The whole cycle of falling in love and then breaking of heart, resulting in extreme pain, has been beautifully described in the poem. The poet also gives hope for a new beginning, where he would love again and have a love with no end.
Memories Of You
Just when I think I'm over you
I think of something you used to do
The way you smiled at me
Or how much in love we used to be
Now I know you don't care for me
But you're in my heart and soul for eternity
When I find someone new
Still, I can't get over you
I gave my heart to you
But you tore it in two
You made me cry
I feel so empty inside
You moved on I know
All I feel is sorrow
Each day is a new start
One day I will love again
A love that knows no end
