The poem 'Secret Love', by Meagan E. Eppley,is a detailed description of the love that a girl harbors for a boy, but is not able to express in front of anyone, not even him. She loves him secretly, feels happy when she is with him and likes everything about him. She wants to be with him all the time and share her feelings for him. The bubbles of love are bursting inside her heart. However, the love does not give her anything in return. In this teenage love poem, Meagan says that the girl will never tell the guy she loves, as to how she feels for him. She will just nurture the love in her heart and say 'I've loved him for so long'.
Secret Love
There's a girl
Who is secretly in love
Her secret Being
She can't tell anyone
Why?
They'd all laugh
And be shocked.
The Boy
Well, he'd never give
Her a second look
She's all confused and
All mixed up.
Why does
She feels this way?
All she knows is
When she's with him
She's free
Free to be who she is
And to be happy
She just wants to be with him
To be able to
Tell him how she feels
For him to feel the way
She does
But she'll never be able
To express her love
She'll shelter it in her heart
For always
I've loved him for so long...
