Our father is amongst the most important persons in our life. He inspires us to move ahead in life and is always there to support us, whenever we tumble and fall down. Father's Day is celebrated across the world to honor the wonderful beings we call 'dad'. In the poem 'What Is A Dad', Susan Ceylise is explaining the qualities that a father has. He is someone who brushes you off when you fall, but lets you try again. He is the one who wants to protect you from the world, but still lets you learn from your own mistakes. In the end, she says that her dad has all the qualities that a father should have and many more as well.

A dad is someone who
Wants to catch you before you fall
But instead picks you up,
Brushes you off,
And lets you try again.
A dad is someone who
Wants to keep you from making mistakes
But instead lets you find your own way,
Even though his heart breaks in silence
When you get hurt.
A dad is someone who
Holds you when you cry,
Scolds you when you break the rules,
Shines with pride when you succeed,
And has faith in you even when you fail...
Dad, you're everything a dad should be and much more.
